Misconception #7 - Using Inaccurate Space Requirements
You are moving your business to a new space because you are growing, downsizing or looking to lower your rent. Before telling your realtor what size space you require, you have methodically identified each room you need its size. The total is your target space, right? Wrong!
Here's why:
- Did you remember to include an “aisle factor?” This should be between 30% and 40%.
- Depending on the space you move into, you may or may not need restrooms, a janitor’s closet and even a vestibule to the exterior entrance door.
- The sizes of your conference rooms and break rooms must also provide at least 15 square feet per occupant
